The Purbeck Gun Club was founded in 1977 by our chairman Mr Graham Baume. The club started as a pistol shooting club and shared its range with the now defunct Swanage Rifle Club.
Following the handgun ban in 1997 many of the members moved to target shooting using .22 rimfire rifles and the club now offers competitions between the members for both rimfire and air rifle shooters.
The club members vary in age between approx 8 to 80 and the club also has members who live outside the area who shoot when on holiday in the area.
